Jack Black Beard Lube Conditioning Shave Review

* Jack Black Beard Lube is a non-foaming shave cream.

* It has a feel like a hair conditioner, like a slick gel.

* It goes on clear, so you can see where you are shaving a lot easier than with traditional opaque varieties.

* Eucalyptus causes a tingling sensation that might be too much for those with sensitive skin.

* The shave is extremely smooth, with a similar feel as I normally only get when I use a pre-shave oil.

Summary:  I am a big fan of Jack Black lip balms, so I thought their shaving products would be worth a shot.  Beard Lube goes on really smoothly and the shave is quite smooth.  Skipping the pre-shave oil skips a step, and the lube doesn’t clog your razor like other products sometimes do.  Although it purports to combine pre-shave oil, shaving cream, and moisturizer in one product, I didn’t really feel the aftereffects of the moisturizer, so don’t be surprised if you aren’t able to skip the after-shave step of applying moisturizer.  The smell is subtle- but nice, almost like aromatherapy.  It disappears quickly after shaving, so it won’t interfere with any fragrances you put on afterwards.

Portland General Store Racer Shaving Cream Review

* Racer shaving cream is a non-foaming organic shave cream.

* No brush is needed, just a finger or two to slather it on.

Juniper Ridge Cascade Glacier Soap Review

* The notes are ginger and pine trees/forest.

* The soap feels refreshing, bordering on bracing – definitely great for a morning wake-up shower.

Elements Showcase Wrapup (August 2012 Edition) – with a touch of NYIGF

Coming from the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) world, one thing I’ve realized is the importance of networking. Attending my first Elements Showcase in January was my introduction to the fragrance industry, and the exposure to so many new fragrance lines and great contacts made my August return a certainty. This time, instead of just writing about what I smelled, I am going to focus on trends/highlights.
