* First sniff is quite confusing. Am I really smelling motor oil, burning plastic, tires, and construction materials?
* It’s really disconcerting – like you are walking by an construction site and they are illegally burning construction materials. It’s also really strong. Really strong.
* Note De Luxe starts as a sweet floral bomb. Actually, the first whiff has a touch of citrus, but that is quickly overpowered by iris, violet, jasmine, and something mysterious that resonates as slightly dirty.
* While it’s quite well-blended, I had to sniff my arm several times to figure out the flowers each time.
* Note De Luxe is also quite loud. This could be Flowerbomb’s French second cousin.
* The flowers sing for a long time, projecting for a good two hours before they calm down a little.
* After about six hours, it settles down to a nice oriental base – with vanilla, tonka, and resins.
Summary: Evody is a niche line made by a mother/daughter team who make really special and high-quality perfumes.When I sniffed the full line in Paris, I found it hard to decide which one I wanted as they are all pretty DIVA. Though I say DIVA, I am not saying that guys can’t wear Note De Luxe, just that they would have to be comfortable broadcasting something different and distinctive. These scents are not for the meek of heart nor for the shy wall flower. Note de Luxe is a strong floral oriental with excellent longevity, around twelve hours. Obviously, it isn’t office-friendly, but it is perfect for nighttime. I was struck by how well-blended the scent was (it was hard to place each note – even after several wearings) and that it smelled really expensive as if they used very high quality ingredients. If you want something vivid and bold that will make you stand out from the crowd, sample Note de Luxe.

* Silk Mood starts off with a really strong rose that projects loudly. People several feet away will know that you are wearing a rose scent.
* It’s brazen and spiced, so it’s surprisingly appealing for both men and women. It would be pure diva on a woman or robust yet sexy on a man
* The rose gets sweeter, yet more decadant. It’s a mature sweet that’s richly and seductive.
* The first time I wore it, I got pear joining the rose. The next time, I could swear it was apple. The fruit note that boosts the rose seems to change with me each time.
* Though the woods are subtly there through the whole development, they come most into the forefront in the base where they anchor what becomes a very green rose, as opposed to the sweeter rose present earlier.
Of the three Moods, I would say that Silk Mood is the one closest to its own name. It’s smooth, sexy, and seductive – just like silk. Silk is also the fabric of royalty, so the bold rose fits that symbolism as well. I could say this is oud for girls, but that might be sexist and demeaning. While it is soft, it is still strong and longevity is more than eight hours. Guys who are confident in themselves and not afraid of florals would like this. Rose and Oud is a classic combination in Arabic perfumery, Silk Mood is a modern interpretation that keeps the feel but makes it more appropriate for our current tastes. Due to the projection of the rose, this is not an office-friendly fragrance. If you are looking for an oud that is not dirty or skanky, Silk Mood might be the one for you.

* Panache starts off fruity and boozy- sweet, but still kind of dark.
* It’s a blend of several notes, but it’s so smooth and balanced that I can’t really pick out any of the notes. Though it is surprisingly loud for the first hour or so.
