* Jack Black Beard Lube is a non-foaming shave cream.
* It has a feel like a hair conditioner, like a slick gel.
* It goes on clear, so you can see where you are shaving a lot easier than with traditional opaque varieties.
* Eucalyptus causes a tingling sensation that might be too much for those with sensitive skin.
* The shave is extremely smooth, with a similar feel as I normally only get when I use a pre-shave oil.
Summary: I am a big fan of Jack Black lip balms, so I thought their shaving products would be worth a shot. Beard Lube goes on really smoothly and the shave is quite smooth. Skipping the pre-shave oil skips a step, and the lube doesn’t clog your razor like other products sometimes do. Although it purports to combine pre-shave oil, shaving cream, and moisturizer in one product, I didn’t really feel the aftereffects of the moisturizer, so don’t be surprised if you aren’t able to skip the after-shave step of applying moisturizer. The smell is subtle- but nice, almost like aromatherapy. It disappears quickly after shaving, so it won’t interfere with any fragrances you put on afterwards.
